NYC - Meatpacking District Trendy Bars

My husband and I will be visiting NYC before New Year's and have dinner reservations at The Stanton Social in the Meatpacking District for Friday, December 28th. We'd like to go out for drinks afterward to a trendy bar (think martinis, not beer) with good music, drinks and a "scene." Any recommendations? Thanks!

Sorry, I didn't know. I read online that Stanton Social is in the Meatpacking District. Guess the website was mistaken. Regardless, what I was trying to ask in my post was that after eating at The Stanton Social, we would like to go somewhere else for drinks. Can anyone suggest somewhere in the vicinity of The Stanton Social?

you should take a look at Stanton Social's own website - it's a restaurant AND a trendy lounge . . . one of the trendiest!

That being said, try this site: http://nymag.com/nightlife

Since you had the location wrong for the Stanton Social, I'm curious if you are aware just what it is. Here are some reveiews worth reading before going:

I am very aware of what The Stanton Social is - I've thoroughly researched its website, its menu (small plates) and many, many reviews. I was just confused on location based on a website that listed bars and their location. (I haven't been to NYC in 20 years - forgive me for my confusion!) Thanks for all the suggestions!

I was just down there last night eating at Apizz and walked to SS for drinks but it was closed due to a party. If you have a plan to go somewhere else then great, but we just ended up wandering into some bar/restaurant on the corner that was perfectly cool and played great music..much like most every other place down there. You'll have no shortage of spots to land post-dinner, trust me!

If you still want a cool bar in the Meatpacking District, go to the Gansevoort Hotel's rooftop bar. It has great cocktails, an interesting crowd, and fantastic views.
