I'm with Gekko I'd love to hear actual places to get a meal for $20 including a glass of wine on the UES. The cost of living on the UES is outrageous.
And please post a report of the Draper exhibit after you go. I'd love to hear all about it.

Pardon. This is a travel forum and this thread is about restaurants on the UES where one can find "a light lunch (salad, good sandwich, or panini etc) and a glass of wine for under $20 each."
Apparently, there are "many places" in NYC where that is possible, and a few suggestions have been made here, most of which, unfortunately, fail to meet the stated budgetary requirement.

ahh one of the ironies of life in NYC, the housing on the UES side is apparently affordable while all the necessary living necessities around it are expensive. i.e. restaurants, laundry dry cleaning etc.
That's why we all wanted to know about affordable lunch places where you could get a glass of wine and a meal for $20.
So it's great to have a suggestion or two about restaurants in the area.
