NYC in December

We are taking our grandson(age 7) to NYC for a day in Dec.. Any suggestions of places to see and eat would be greatly appreciated.Can't get tickets for a play as matinees sold out.thanks

Take him to the Museum of Natural History and as a treat( not lunch) go to Dylan's Candy Bar, 3rd and 60th.
Are you sure you can't any matinees? Did you try Billy Elliott? Use www.broadwaybox.com to search.

If it is Christmas week, it will be a zoo. You must get theatre tickets in advance and try to eat somewhere besides the thatre district or midtown.

If you're going to the Museum there are a host of kid friendly places to eat near the Museum on the upper west side.

I'm surprised that all shows are sold out this far in advance unless you are looking for just one show. Have you called the box office?

The other thing is - if he is into boats and planes, you might want to visit the Intrepid Museum.
