NYC Hotel Help!!
THOUGHT I had a reservation at the Le Parker Meridien, but noooooo. Will arrive NYC 4/27! Any suggestions for a decent midtown hotel for 3 adults?? (Hopefully around $200 per night) I can't imagine arriving there without a confirmed hotel reservation, and time is running out.

Just returned today from NY and stayed at the Marriott Courtyard--Times Square. It was great. Nice size rooms, wonderful service, quiet, and just around the corner from Times Square. Booked it on their web site for 199. per night for 4 people. Enjoy the city. I sure did.

Hi,
A lovely hotel with reasonable prices (is anything reasonable priced in NYC?)is the Algonquin which is on 44th st. Very close to Times Square. Very Quaint and clean, but old and the rooms are very small.
Another nice hotel (may be more expensive) is the Crowne Plaza at Times Square, very large and modern.

Try priceline. I will be in NY in 3 weeks and put in a bid of $135 per night for their second highest category (3or 4 start can't remember) near midtown west and i will be staying at the Sheraton hotel. Also try www.quickbook.com <----very good prices

You have plenty of time to get a last-minute reservation thru one of the Internet hotel services.
We'd made a reservation at the San Carlos, just outside the theater district, and then cancelled it four days before departure because we get a better deal thru hoteldiscounts.com.
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza, right on Broadway a block out of Times Square, for $199/night the first night and $239/night the second. A rollaway bed was free, perhaps because it was for a kid.
We got a similar last-minute deal last fall thru travelweb.com.
I do the online research and then call the toll-free numbers. I see the Crowne Plaza comes out much higher on your date, but the Beacon, which is on 75th, has a good rate pop up. I believe other Fodorites have given it a good review.
Good luck.

Definately try priceline. We have reservations through priceline for memorial day weekend at the 3* Park Central hotel in Midtown for $97 a night (+tax)! You might be able to get a great bargain since your trip is coming up soon. There is a great website you should check out re priceline bidding: http://pub4.exboard.com/bpricelineandexpediabidding
People have even gotten the Le Parker Meridien for a bargain at times, when available.

The Mayflower Hotel on the Park is one of my favorites and you could get a room for the price you seek. If you can, try for a park view. It's a nice oasis in a VERY convenient mid-town location. Send an e-mail directly to the hotel:

My parents stayed at the Carlton Hotel a couple of weeks ago. It's on about 28th and Madison. They were refurbishing and the rate was something like $170 a night. The rooms were beautiful - completely redecorated, the largest size I've seen in Manhattan and in a good location.
