If you click on your screen name, you'll come up with your previous postings. The one you are looking for is there...way down the list since no one has responded since you posted your question 6 1/2 hours ago.

Everywhere inManhattan with real hotels is safe. New York is the safest large city in the country.

If you want to stay in the theater district that's Midtown West. Check Biddingfortravel, com to see what people are getting in that area for the price you have in mind - and if you would be happy in all of those places.

A couple of people have said recently that they're getting better prices on Priceline than Hotwire. Before you do either I would ckeck out all the usual discount sites and the hotel's own sites as well to see if they have any super deals available.

Unfortunately you got no answers on your other post. Assuming there are not more than 2 of you for one room try bidding Priceline in Midtown west. I would not go below 3 star hotels (check biddingfortravel.com or betterbidding.com for help) OR if you don't want to risk bidding, look on applecorehotels.com-especially check the Comfort Inn Midtown. Most people say this is a good, clean, comfortable place. Will be a bit over $100 but so will a Priceline bid according to what I see on biddingfortravel.

>>Hotel (west 40s) or the Rockefeller Center Reasonable for Grandmom<<

Message: This was posted on another section.

Hotel in the theater district (west 40s) or the Rockefeller Center area 5th-6th ave around 53d-55th) will be a pretty short ride to the pier. When I went to the hotel section it's not listed that way. Can someone please suggest a hotel? I'm going to Priceline and hope I can see where these areas are listed.

We need a resonable overnight $100, before a cruise out of Pier 88 etc. for Carnival. Open to all suggestions that also would be fun to stay. Thanks<<

AND for my 2 cents worth, I'd also consider using Priceline. Last August I used Priceline for NYC hotel and ended up at Sheraton (a 3-star property). Total price including taxes was just over $100/night.

I would like to use the 2 bidding companies but have to have 2 beds and I don't know if the hotel would have them. I've been told it's a busy weekend.

Thanks for finding my 1st post.

I'm booked with www.travelbook.com at the Hotel Wolcott, 2 twins for $108 at 4 West 31st St. USAir to LGA arrive at 10am. Which do you think - Cab or Super Shuttle? Thanks so very much.

How many people and is one an elderly grandmom? Cab is much easier - and for two or more people its not much more.

Didn't mean to imply you are elderly - it wasn't clear you were the grandmom - thought you might be going with your grandmom.

First, I was pleasantly surprised to read the nice reviews of your hotel on tripadvisor. I hope it works well for you.

As to transport from LGA, I was stunned to see the fares on supershuttle at $17/person. A cab should be about $25-30 plus toll and tip so it will be the same, give or take a few dollars, and you have it to yourselves. Have fun.

By the way, you can bid on Hotwire and Priceline for a 2 bedded room. What you can't do is expect a room that will accomodate more than 2 people.

Priceline does not have provisions for bidding on 2 beds, though you can bid for up to 4 rooms at a time to ensure that your group are all in the same hotel.

To ALL Thanks soooo Much --I couldn't of put this together so fast without the old posts and the new help.

mclaurie - I wish I could bid -- wouldn't it be great to get at 4* hotel. I would have to call the hotel and my passed experience at JFK, I called an asked for two beds and they said OK. When I got there "sorry we only offer 1 bed at those rate on Priceline, you bid on a one bed that's what you get."
