NYC hotel

We go to NYC several times a year, and we've always gotten great rooms on Priceline. Except now. We're going up Sept 19 and need a room for one night. We can't get anything on Hotwire for under $350, and Priceline hasn't accepted any bid for 3 or 4 star up to $225.

Any suggestions? This is the first stop of our honeymoon before we fly to Thailand, so we don't want to be stuck at the JFK Days Inn ;-)

The Pod Hotel is within your budget, but it's a nice, new hotel with a boutique-y feel. Small rooms, but cute.

It's in the 50's on the east side, so getting to Queens for the airport won't be too bad.

Try some of these.
www.hotels.com
www.hotelgrandunion.com

Also the hotel 3030 would fit your budget. It's located at 30 E 30th St.

We liked the Residence Inn Times Square; you could probably get a regular room within your budget there. It's a newer building on a so-so street, but centrally located so you can walk to Times Square/theatres or Empire State Bldg within 15 to 20 minutes. It's a business hotel, but if you get a room on a higher floor, the views are nice. Check it out on TripAdvisor...the reviews are uniformly quite good.

Middle of the week and only three weeks out means it will be tough to get anything under $300.

This is the first night of your honeymoon and you're just NOW looking for a room?

Through link on kayak.com
Beekman Tower Hotel studio suite
$243.17 plus tax= $282.76 on a website skoosh.com

Price on the hotel's website is more than double. I'd phone skoosh is you're interested.
1 - 877 - 4 - SKOOSH

Notice on biddingfortravel.com that many priceline wins are very close to the stay so it is possible you might win something, but can you really take that risk without booking something? I don't see any good cancelable options.
