NYC Fourth ofJuly Fireworks question
I'll be in the city on the evening of the fourth at my son's apartment near Central Park on the upper West Side. I don't really want to be out among the hordes, but I'd like to see some of the fireworks. Is it possible to see them from anywhere in Central Park? Thanks for any help!

I wouldn't think so, too many buildings in the way between the park and the East River. You might want to head south to the South St. Seaport and watch from there, less crowds, that's where I am heading tomorrow night.

To see the fireworks you have to be either along the banks of the east river fairly far downtown or on top of a building with an unobstructed view -also downtown and east side unless it's a really tall building.
Central Park is surrounded by high rise apartments and you can see things in the sky only diretly over the Park.
