NYC - Blue Man or Hairspray?

DH, 13 yr. old daughter and I, visiting NYC this summer. Trying to decide between these two. Anyone see both? Your thoughts?

Thanks!

It's no contest...Hairspray. But, you better get tickets now! Your 13-year-older will love it. There were a lot children in the audience the day we saw it, and they all seemed to be enjoying it.

Just an observation: Who among us would have thought that we'd be taking KIDS to see a MUSICAL based on a movie by JOHN WATERS?! I'd personally like to see them do a musical of "Polyester" or "Female Trouble"....

My son, 12, loved Blue Man Group in NYC. I would recommend you go to see them. The theater is funky and the show is GREAT for kids. There is a lot of "cool" in being the only kid in your middle school classs who has actually seen Blue Man Group.

I think that a 13-year-old would absolutely love seeing Blue Man Group ... the show, the theater, the music ... I think they would find it very cool and fun!

Hairspray has a story which is very age appropriate. It's a great, uplifting play that leaves you smiling. I haven't seen Blue Man but I believe it's more of a performance than a story. The 13 yr old would probably like either but I just think Hairspray is the greatest. Can you do both?

Sorry, you just can't be Broadway. Hairspray is wonderful. There are a few provocative moments where things are hinted at but nothing too inappropriate for a 13 year old.
