NYC and "30 Rock"

We are taking a good friend to NYC for her 30th birthday 2/26 – 3/2.

After watching an episode of “30 Rock”, I am inspired to take her photo near one (or both) of the 30’s that appear in the show opener (she loves the show). One says “30 Rockefeller Center” (like an address) and one is a large art deco, gold-colored 30.

Does either of these exist or are they ‘made for TV’? If they do exist, do you know where they are located?

Thank you in advance as your guidance has always been helpful.

Um - well 30 Rockefeller Center would be located in Rockefeller Center. Don't know where the other "30" is off hand.

"New" York or York? Isn't this the Europe section? I'm confused.....

Incidently, Alec Baldwin makes my skin crawl.

30 Rockefeller Center is the address of the building. It's the same building where Top of the Rock is located and is also called the GE building (on maps.google.com)

I think that the one that says "30 Rockefeller Center" is embedded in the pavement at the entrance to the building. Not sure what the other one is that you refer to...

I think the deco-style "30" is attached to the building itself. Not sure, but I think so.

Thank you to everyone for their answers. As always, this is a wealth of information!

We are going to make a day of it and everytime we see a '30', we'll take a photo with her in it.
Starting at Rockefeller, then 30th street and on to anything we pass with it in it.

Thanks again everyone!
