Now desperately seeking accommodation in Maui

I have posted before and had lots of replies but am now two weeks out from the trip and am so confused I may end up sleeping on the beach. As a family of five its hard to find accommodation large enough and I realise that I am not going get anything under $150 a night (which is over $200 in our money) I have searched so many sites I am now totaly confused. Help, islandmom and everyone or else tel me the safest beach to sleep on!

Have you considered using Priceline? Somewhere on www.biddingfortravel.com is information for overseas users.

Trish -

You might want to consider a condo, if you haven't already. There are many two and three bedroom condos available on Maui. Here are a few sites that might help. Good luck!

But there aren't any two or three bedroom condos available in August. I tried six weeks ago to find one. I looked everywhere, believe me , everywhere! I knew before I began that it was unlikely I'd find anything , but I figured I might as well try.

trish, the only way you will find something in your price range - which is very doable with a longer lead time -is a condo. Keep trying, you may find a cancellation. But if/when you fine something - anything - grab it because ther isn't any choice at this point.

We booked a condo for September from mauilodging.com. The properties all look very nice (we're staying at the Hale Kai) and they are very reasonably priced. Try them; they are extremely nice and accomodating!
