North Shore/Winward/Southeast Oahu - 7 Day Itinerary (Suggestions/Advice Needed!)
Hello Everyone!
I will be visiting Oahu for the first time with my boyfriend and another couple starting Sun, Oct 12th through Sun, Oct 19th (6 full days). We are going mainly for our friend's wedding, but was also able to take additional days to make a vacation out of it. The challenge I had was to be able to do the activities we want to do around the wedding festivities. Please take a look and let me know what you think! Also, we were interested in a catamaran/sailing excursion as well as a surf lesson, but I need recommendations on which company to go with and which day we would be able to fit it in.
Sun / 12th - North Shore
Afternoon - Check into Ke Iki Beach Bungalows
Evening - Dinner at Haleiwa Joe's Seafood Grill
Mon / 13th - Winward Oahu
Morning - Kayaking from Lanakai Beach to Mokulua Islands
Afternoon - Kailua Beach
Eats: (L) Boots & Kimo's Homestyle Kitchen / still need a restaurant for dinner
Tues / 14th - North Shore
Morning - Snorkeling @ Shark's Cove
Afternoon - Sunset Beach / Banzai Pipeline
Evening - Wedding Event - Welcome BBQ
Eats: (L) Kua Aina Sandwich
Wed / 15th - Southeast Oahu
Morning - Snorkeling @ Hanauma Bay
Afternoon - Manoa Falls & Diamond Head
Eats: (D) Ono Hawaiian Foods / still need a restaurant for lunch
Thur / 16th - North Shore
Morning - Horseback Riding @ Turtle Bay & Waimea Falls
Afternoon - Waimea Bay
Evening - Wedding Event - Rehearsal Luau
Eats: (L) Giovanni's Aloha Shrimp
Fri / 17th - North Shore
Morning - Ke Iki's Beach
Afternoon/Evening - Wedding Ceremony & Reception
Eats: (L) Cafe Haleiwa or Haleiwa Eats
Sat / 18th - North Shore
Morning - Wedding Event - Mahalo Brunch
Afternoon - Haleiwa Beach or Kaena Point Hike?
Evening - Dinner @ Ola (Turtle Bay Resort)
Sun / 19th - Fly back to NY
Any suggestions / opinions / recommendations are welcome!

By now the North Shore surf is variable. You will need to watch the surf forecast to know whether snorkeling at Shark's Cove will be doable.
If the surf is higher than 2-3 feet, do not snorkel.
If it is forecast at 2-3 feet, I would go down and look at the conditions before getting into the water. Shark's Cove is rather rocky in parts and if you're not familiar with the area and a good swimmer, it might be too rough for you. Plus, the visibility won't be so great either.

citychicnyc, here is a link to my Hawaii/Kailua Beach trip report from last month:
http://www.fodors.com/forums/threadselect.jsp?fid=1
Hope it helps ... we did Romy's Shrimp Truck on the North Shore, a recommendation from both the *Blue Bible* (Doughty and Friedman) and Pauline Frommer, and I would recommend Pinky's in Kailua for dinner ... GREAT Mai Tai's and food. Buzz's is very good, as well, but don't order their Mai Tai.
Enjoy Hawaii ... there's nothing like it!
