To be honest with you and from experience, most "city" teenagers don't really care for the mountains unless you keep them busy with activiies like whitewater rafting, gem mining, and things like that. My daughter liked the mountains until she was around 14, then hated them, but now that she is turning 18 and graduating, she has some interest in going back (with her friends) and staying at our place ...

My teenage niece and one of her friends visited me here in the mountains of North Carolina last summer, and they had a blast.
They live in an urban area of South Jersey, and just loved escaping to such beautiful scenery for nine days straight.
We did all sorts of outdoor activities, and they spent most of their time gawking out the windows of my truck and marveling at how incredible their surroundings were.

If your teens like hiking, whitewater rafting, etc. as mentioned. There are also lovely lakefront property rentals. My experience is that teens love boating and swimming.
We rented a cabin in Topton w/a dock, a canoe, floats, etc., and we were able to rent boats. The kids/teens loved it. So did the adults.
