If you are talking about Newport R.I., then a 21 yr. old would probably like the following:
Johnny's Atlantic Beach Club (www.atlanticbeachclub.com)
Christies of Newport (www.christiesofnewport.com)
Johnny's Atlantic Beach Club (www.atlanticbeachclub.com)

Dear HarryR- if you click on the screen name (Camsmom) you get all recent posts by this person. The only other one she has posted is asking a question about Newport, RI. It took me 3 seconds to figure that out, shorter than it took you the time to post your snide come back. Have a nice day.

And now to help answer the question. Some of depends upon when you are going- if it is in the summer and early fall the places jd mentioned will be kicking, especially for a 20-something. However, if you are planning on going between now and say next Memeorial Day weekend, those two places will be DEAD. Actually, Newport nightlife in the winter and spring is much more subdued than the summer. But during the weekend, there are several places that will be packed with the college crowd and have bands. One Pelham East on Thames Street is a favorite. The Rhino Room, also on Thames, has a DJ and gets crowded. This is just a start. Most of the bars in Newport are within easy walking distance of each other on Thames Street. Try the two places I suggest, if you get tired of them just stroll up and down the street and peek into the doors of the other places to see if it suits your fancy.
