Nice Winter Resorts in Pa/NY

Hello.

Two years ago my girlfriend and I spent a weekend in Mount Airy Lodge in Mount Pocono, Pa. We really liked the place, but we understand that it has since gone bankrupt and is no longer functioning in winter time. Any recommendations for similar resorts in the NY/Pa area (as close as possible to NYC)? Many thanks.

Ross,
I only know about Mt. Airy from their TV commericals from years past - they blanketed the NYC area.

I think you'd have to travel to the Lake George area or New England to find something approaching Mt. Airy. There are some hotels/resorts in the Tarrytown/Hudson Valley area but I've never been to them.

One of my friends, who skis Vernon Valley area of NJ, mentioned a new (resort style) place opening this season in the Mountain Creek area.
hth,

On the border of NY state and Mass is some nice skiing and there are many beautiful B&B's around.
