Nice Place in Annapolis?
My husband and I will be in Annapolis in November for a navy football game (hubby's an alum) and although the game is in Baltimore, we would like to stay in Annapolis so we can visit his old haunts and the Academy campus. Anyone have any good recs for nice places to stay? I know the Leow's is nice, but I think we'd prefer a romantic b&b. We'll only be there 2 or 3 nights so price isn't really a consideration. Any ideas?

Check out the Historic Inns of Annapolis, they have a handfull of properties around the city dock area. The Maryland Inn is their largest property, which has a restuarant, jazz club and small quaint bar on the ground floor. I'm a local, so I've never stayed at any of them.
All of these are in a more convenient location than Loews. Loews is out on West Street, and while the neighborhood is vastly improving, I'd prefer the ultimate convenience of being closer late at night.

Even though, as Carolyn suggests, the Loews is not directly downtown we found the walk to be vigorous and enjoyable.
The hotel, however, was the problem.
At a "special" week-end rate of $189/nite, this property was barely above the level of a decent motel.
Confirming once again the adage Location, Location....
