Niagra Hotel Help
We're going to Niagra Falls (Canadian side) this month. I am considering the Sheraton Fallsview. Does anyone have any feedback on that hotel? Any other suggestions? We are interesed in the casinos but don't necessarily want to be in a hotel that has one.

I stayed at the Sheraton Fallsview a couple of year ago. It was nice, our room had a whirlpool and a little glassed in balcony thing(not sure if they all do). It was an easy walk to the casino. The view was amazing, nice to fall asleep to thesight and sound of the falls. Overall, we enjoyed it.

I can't really give you a recommendation but I can tell you to just go up and get a hotel, no need to make reservations. There is Travelodge, Econolodge, Holiday Inn and some old Canadian hotels. There are so, so many places that will have rooms w/great views. Also along River Avenue, there are many B&B homes that look charming and overlook the Niagara River. Next time I go up, I'll just travel there and stay wherever. Regarding the Falls, I'd go under the cave that lets you look out and up at the falls. Maid of the Mist will probably still be open until mid-October - this a necessary and required trip - it is really fun - think Gilligan and the Skipper in Gilligan's Island with raincoats on and all the water around. Maid of Mist gives you full length raincoats for the ride. IMAX theater is around the area and it has a small museum and the film tells a short history of the falls. I hope you have fun - I always do.

We stayed there a couple of years ago--probably posted on the Canada board. It was clean, nice staff. We paid for the fallsview room so my Mom could look at and hear the falls at night. They were adding floors when we were there so there was lots of construction noise and dust, but I would expect that to be finished.
