Newport accommodations?
My boyfriend and I are visiting Newport and Block Island in July. Any recommendations for where to stay in Newport?? It'll be a Friday and Saturday night. We'd rather not spend a ton of money, but would like something nice and close to the action. Thank you!!

Well ideally something under $250 a night if that's possible. But seeing as how it's right in the middle of summer, we'll most likely be paying the higher prices.
As for action, it'd be nice to be close to the restaurants and the waterfront. Places we can walk to instead of driving. Thank you!

I really like this place and they have rooms under $250....it's a great location in the middle of everything.

Several years ago we stayed at the Yankee Peddlar Inn on Touro St. Not exactly in the heart of everything, but certainly within walking distance to shopping & dining. I'm guessing it will be around $250/night.

In July we booked a balcony harbor view room at the Newport Hotel and Marina off of America's Cup Drive. We paid AAA rates so our bill was about $650. A couple weekends ago my girlfriend and I went and got our hotel on priceline. Same hotel but for $200 a night. This weekend, labor day weekend, my boyfriend and I are returning and we got the same hotel via priceline for $150 a night. If you are very careful, priceline will give a great rate. Narrow your selection to just the harbor area.
