Newburgh NY Airport

Looking to perhaps book a flight out of this airport for a holiday trip. People have warned about parking at the White Plains Airport. Does Newburgh pose any of the same issues with parking, or anything else for that matter? Thank you!

I'm not familiar with White Plains airport, but Newburgh's airport has had plenty of parking in my experience.

Newburgh airport has plenty of parking. Pretty cheap too, compared to other airports.

The new exit from I84 makes access easier as well.

Parking at SWF is getting worse. If it's not a holiday, you will be fine. I flew out XMAS 2007 and they ran out of parking and you had to park at a hotel and take the shuttle over to the airport. Bad part was you had to wait in a line of cars for 20 minutes to find this out as they routed traffic into a full parking lot and you had to wait at the drop down gate for directions to teh satellite lot. I'm afraid its expanding it flights faster than its capacity.

What Loki says doesn't surprise me. I'm from that area, but always fly into NYC area airports when visiting family. I did fly into Newburgh in November, and though parking was OK, getting out of the airport took quite a while b/c the road heading out is just one lane. My parents say similar things to what Loki says.

Loki- we're looking to go 12/27. Sounds like we may be risking it. Is there a park, ride and fly place nearby?

Ran into similar problems early January - they have plenty of parking and alternatives if near by lots are full. The big problem seems to be the line you have to wait in to pay ahead (which is odd). The 80 year old (please don't beat me up on this), that was manning the booth could barely speak when giving directions to the lot and my transaction to pay took over 6 minutes. All said, just allow extra time to park.
