Parking problems @ or near Phila. Airport
If you're planning on flying out of Phila. at a busy time, be aware that parking can be tough.
We flew out the day before Veteran's Day (not even realizing it was a long weekend) and had problems. The long-term lot at the airport was full, as were all of the private lots in the area. We lucked out because a motel on Rte. 291 opened up its guest lot for parking, and we stumbled across it.
The story we got is that Southwest has been so successful since it came into Phila. that it created a parking shortage (SW is getting three more gates there next month). Also, apparently Tue. and Thur. are really bad days, as is anytime near a holiday..

I flew this same day out of PHL and had never experienced anything like the parking problem. We always use Pacifico valet--they had a 40 MINUTE WAIT at 4:00 pm! I have used Pacifico over 50 times and never waited more than 5 mins for a driver. All of the other off-site parking was full, as was economy. We ended up in one of the last few spots in the garage at a cost of $68 dollars for three days. This is a major problem that needs fixing. I blame Mayor Street as he is the source of all good things gone wrong in our fair city.
