Newark to hotel? Train?
Okay, ignore me if my questions are starting to become a pain....we finally booked our trip last night--we are flying into Newark (we get in around noon). What's the best way to get to our hotel-Helmsley Park Lane at 59th and 5th? Train to Penn Station? Cab? Shuttle? Which is least expensive, and would riding the train be hard with our luggage, although we shouldn't have too much. Thanks ahead of time, Cindy

Easiest is a taxi or order a car service like dial7.com
Cheapest is train to Penn station or bus to Port Authority but then you'll need a taxi or some other transport to get to your hotel. What day of the week do you arrive?

With two or more people, car service isn't that much more than the AirTrain/NJTransit option. That alone is $15/person just to NYPenn, and you still need to add transport to hotel.
EWR Express bus is also $15 to mid-town.
However, there're cheaper options. You can take a local bus from EWR to Newark Penn station ($1.35 I think), then it's $4 to take the NJTransit to NY Penn, and then transfer to cab or subway.
