The Roosevelt is a very nice hotel in a good location - right next to Grand Central Station and its food court and restaurants, one block from Fifth Avenue, three blocks to Times Square and Broadway shows, etc. It depends on the time of the year for the price but I have stayed there for $150 (American)in the past. I'm not sure if you want to try Priceline (or if you can, being in Canada), but you would get a much nicer hotel for less money. If you have more than two people, though, the Roosevelt is a good choice because they do offer rooms with two double or queen sized beds.

Keep in mind that $150 US dollars is worth about $220 Canadian

The Roosevelt is a fine moderately priced hotel nicely located. Shop all resources for the best rate. Expedia, HotelDiscount, Quikbook, etc., and at the hotel's website, along with calling the hotel directly. In fact, if you do a websearch, the various online booking sites that offer the Roosevelt will come up. You'll find that rates for the same hotel for the same dates often vary significantly depending upon the resource!

Sometimes the Roosevelt has special deals on their web site; you might want to sign up to receive them by e-mail. If you'd like to try Priceline, go to http://www.biddingfortravel.com first, to learn the best way to do it. The Grand Hyatt, which is right near the Roosevelt, often gives inventory to Priceline and people report getting rooms there for $75 to $95/night (US dollars, tax not included), depending on season.
