You guys are gonna have a blast!! NY NY is a nice hotel. We've stayed there. My hubby really likes this hotel. It's sooo cute how it is designed inside and out. They do have a rollercoaster on top of the hotel, so when you check in request a room away from the coaster so you won't hear the noise. I got this advice from someone who also stayed there.
If you get a chance check out the new Cirque Du Soliel show there. They have a new show playing at the NY NY. We've seen Mystere at Treasure Island and it was WONDERFUL!!! Worth every penny.... Another great Vegas website with loads of info is- www.lvol.com

Have Fun!!

The MX restaurant at Mandalay Bay is not great-good apps...HORRIBLE lame atmosphere.
No reservations needed (or taken, I don't think) at MX rest. in Venetian.
In January, my sister and I stood in line for 2 hours to get into Ghost Bar...and left b/c it was so late and we weren't even close to the door. And we had even cut in line! What a waste.

Caesars closed down their buffet. The coffeshop, Cafe Lago, does a buffet sometimes. I went there, checked it out, and ordered off the menu instead.

As for Ghostbar, you can get line passes from a pit boss if you're playing in the casino, you might be able to buy them from cab drivers, your concierge might be able to get them for you.

Sorry I assumed you were a dude!

The Cirque show at NYNY is nothing like the typical stuff, check some reviews before going, especially if mom is going. It's very homoerotic and some people aren't really comfortable with that. Just don't expect it to be O, part deux.

Paris is supposed to have nice rooms and reasonable. They also have a really good brunch. For great Mex food, we love the Coyote Grill at MGM. It's a little pricey but excellent food. It's not your typical taco and enchilada place. It's truly gourmet Mexican food.

I'll just throw in my 2 cents worth. If you are going to see Celine at Ceasars, you might enjoy a less expensive but great meal at Cheesecake Factory, which is there. I know it may not sound like it would be that good, but the food was really tasty when I was there in March. Extensive menu, large portions and very reasonable. Another favorite if you want a special meal, is Olives at Bellagio. You can sit outside and have a waterfront view of the Bellagio fountains while you dine. Very special. Your mom and sister would love it. Also, would recommend Bellagio's buffet as I ate breakfast there and it was very good. Bellagio also has a Gellato place near their pool entrance that is to die for. If you've never tried Gellato, this is a must. Great gellato and worth the price.
Mon Ami Gabi at Paris is another really nice restaurant and reasonably priced. One thing about Vegas, you will never run out of nice places to eat.

I was with a bunch of folks from work and we did shots and rode the coaster at NYNY. It was a blast. I think y'all will have fun there. We had a wonderful lunch at Olives' in the Bellagio...really classy and very tasty. The casino and restaurants at Hard Rock are fabulous. I sent my son there last year and he definitely had a great time. I don't think you need to worry about your Mom being shocked if she's the one who has been to Vegas before. You can't imagine how much fun it is to travel with your kids when you are all grown up!
