New York City Pass DISCOUNT???

Does anyone know of any place to get the New York City Pass at a discounted rate? The regular price is $74 for 6 attractions. I found Costco.com sells it for $63 plus shipping.

We plan to do the museums over 2 days (spending more time at AMNH & Met). Will do ESB one night. Not too thrilled about the cruise. Any comments?

The Met and the AMNH are both pay what you wish. You can walk up to the ticket booth, hand the seller whatever you wish and say 2 please (or however many you are). MOMA is free on Fridays starting at 5 pm. although very crowded at that time. You can buy ESB tickets online and avoid the ticket buyers line. I personally would forget the pass.

These passes are very rarely worth the cost. Few people get to enough places to equal the cost - or, end up going places they're really not interested in to get their value from it.

You don;t now how you will feel, what the weather will be etc. Leave your plans open to do what you want when for as long as you like.

Yes, the Met and AMNH will have signs that say "Suggested Donation $20" or the like, which translates "pay what you wish though we hope it's a $20." I've never had bad reactions when handing over a lesser amount and saying, "one, please."

MOMA has a stated "admission" of $20 except on Fridays 4pm-8pm. Read the signs carefully at all NY museums.

There are some things on the pass that if combined correctly might save you money, but the sights you mentioned don't make it worthwhile.

Thanks for all the replies. I think that we are going to forget about the City Pass and piece everything together on our own. Boy...I feel a sense of relief now that I don't have to fit everything in to get my monies worth.

new york show tickets has a 10% citypass discount at http://www.nytix.com/Attractions/index.html

It brings the price down from $79.00 to $71.70, better than a poke in the eye anyday.

IMHO the pass is a waste of money. You are better off just going, seing what you want and paying.

Also, highly reco the Top of the Rock versus the ESB in order to avoid lines that can be hours long.
