NEW YORK AT XMAS

My daughter and I are going to NY in December. Ages 40 & 18. We have not decided what hotel yet, but would like to stay close to times square, theatre distict, lincoln center. Would appreciate any hotel ideas that are not priced out of this world. Any suggestions on whats best to do around Xmas, we have 6 days.

Most hotels in The City will be pricey, especially during the Christmas season. One place to look into in Time Square is the Marriot Marquis, which is also close to the theater district. The Lincoln Cnter is actually on the Upper West Side, a little ways from Times Square. While in The City, don't miss the Rockefeller ice skating rink.

wow lucky you!go to expedia.com or hotels.com ,they give good discriptions of the hotels in nyc. nyc is very compact so don't limit your search to just times sqare. midtown manhatatan is loaded with good hotels, midtown being 57st to 34 st.
there's shopping ;macys 34st.a must!
ice skating at cenral park or rockafeller center also christmas spectacular at radio city music hall.
go to TKS window and get 1/2 price tickets to broadway shows.museums,ect.

A reasonably priced hotel in the theater district that usually receives good reviews is the Edison on W. 47th, just west of Broadway. You might also try the Empire located across the street from Lincoln Center.

Try either the Empire at Lincoln Center or the Salisbury on 57th Street.

Thanks for the input - I'm leaning towards booking a room the the Warwick Hotel $159 per night seems reasonable- anyone stayed there - or heard anything?

Andrea, The Warwick is fine and in a great location. You'll be near everything - Central Park, Radio City, a short walk to theater and shops.

Have fun.

Andrea - I am also planning a trip to NYC in December and The Warwick is one of the hotels I'm considering. Where did you get your rate of $159 from as it's better than the one I got?
