New Orleans Trip Report
Thanks to everyone who helped me along the way with questions I had about our first trip to NOLA.
Stayed five days at Le Richelieu in the French Quarter. Nice hotel in a good location...close to Cafe Du Monde! Ate at several good restaurants, my favorite was Emeril's Delmonico...his was Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
Went to the House of Blues Gospel Brunch and really enjoyed it. Also went to the Aquarium of the Americas and would recommend it. Took a Cypress Swamp Tour. It was a good experience, but kind of pricey. Had a cooking class at New Orleans School of Cooking.
If you're going, don't be surprised - lots of the streets do smell. But, they are the kind of streets that you might avoid anyway. We were also surpised at how dirty the Quarter was - trash everywhere, lots more than even other large cities. We generally avoided Bourbon Street, not really our scene. Felt safer than we expected most everywhere.
Hope this helps someone in the future!
