New Orleans Restaurants

What is your favorite restaurant in New Orleans?

Has anyone stayed at the Wyndham Canal Place Hotel? How was it?

If this is your first trip to NOLA--please, stay IN the Quarter. You'll never regret it. As for restaurant--Mothers(lunch), Gallatoires, Commanders Palace(fancy), Bayona(fancy), Peristyle(fancy), Irenes, Uglesich(lunch), Nola(Emerill's other spot) and a personal fav-Pascal Maneles(BBQ shrimp). Good Luck !!

My husband and I really liked Mike Anderson's on Bourbon. Bet there early as the line starts getting long.
I don't even like seafood and I found something to eat. My hubby ate everything on his plate and extras. He raves about that place to this day.

tbaker8,
I have not stayed at Canal Place since the Westin became the Wyndham, but if you stay there, be SURE to request a river view room! You are so high, the view of the river and boat traffic is magical! It is a really short walk to the Quarter.

Bayona, chef Susan Spicer. If the weather is nice, sit in the courtyard. Reserve well in advance. You can check out menu/pix on their web site. NOLA and Commander's Palace (in the Garden district) are also very good.

We stayed at the Wyndham Canal Place last year...we were very unimpressed. Had stayed there when it was a Westin and it was wonderful. Would never stay there again.

I personally think Bayonna is one of the most romantic restaurants ( and one of the best-foodwise) that I have ever been in......

You will LOVE it!!!

Also Emeril's has outstanding service and great food- in addition to NOLA---

I love Brennan's for breakfast, Uglesich's for lunch. I also like the Bon Ton, Mother's, and Cafe Masparo for lunch.
Bayonna is goodfo dnner, as is Bella Luna. I used to lovee Arnaud's, but my last visit there was sub-par.

I like staying at small hotels in the quarter, lke Hotel Ste. Marie.
Have a great time and laissez les bon temps roulez!

The Omni Royal was a nice hotel in the quarter with a great rooftop pool/gym area that overlooks the quarter and the Mississippi. Its walking distance to just about everything.
