New Orleans hotel--- Crescent on Claiborne?
We're trying to find decent hotel rooms for two couple heading to NOLA for a weekend in October. I found this hotel for $88 per night, but can't find any reviews. The Orbitz website says it is under new ownership and is in the process of being upgraded to be a business hotel. The address is 100 S Claiborne. Anyone know anything about this place?
I also checked on the Ramada Inn Suites and Radisson. Their rates are good, around $100, but the reviews on trip advisor are terrible and/or mixed.
Another idea is a 2-bedroom suite. But I'm having trouble finding hotels that have them.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Marla

There is nothing decent about this hotel, which is called the "Grand Palace." It was formerly Crescent on Canal and the Pallas Suites Hotel.
DUMP!!! Read the tripadvisor reviews for it.
$100 a night won't fly during October, probably. May need to up your budget a bit as this is a very busy month.

I would NEVER suggest that you stay anywhere on S. Claiborne. It is not safe, IMO. I lived in NO all my life until I married 5 yrs ago and I would suggest you continue to look for internet deals or othe specials but that is not a good neighborhood. I wish you good luck finding someplace else. You might try a B&B .

You may try www.neworleansinns.com for some B&Bs who get good reviews.
There are several conventions, football games, etc in October. It's historically busy so book soon!

That is definitely a place to avoid. Here is the link to the story about the rodent problem there. http://www.nola.com/news/t-p/frontpa...9766149820.xml
The pictures they showed on WWL TV news were gross.
