Cammelia Grill--great burgers, a real city institution. Right off the street car route.
La Madeleine's--a few of these throughout the city. Great pastries, soups, salads, sandwiches. Grab some food to go from the St. Charles location and take it to the park across the street for picnic. (Then again, in June it may be too hot for that.)
Uglesich's--total dive with great seafood
Brennan's for breakfast--I don't think a jacket is required at breakfast. You'll spend an arm and a titty on the meal, but it's my favorite meal of the day, so I don't mind it once in a blue moon.
Mother's--great all-around. Very casual, lots of New Orleaneans eat here.
Bon Ton--same thing.
Central Grocery--known for its monster-sized muffalettas.
Cafe Masparo for lunch
Acme Oyster Bar--Lots of folks love this place. I couldn't get near it the last time I was down there for all of the tourists.
Have a great time. Until two years ago I lived in Mississippi and would spend as much time in New Orleans as I could. Now I live in New England and I haven't been back to the Big Easy since I moved!

Tweety,
I just wanted to share this link with you. I used it a lot to plan my New Orleans trip.
