New Jersey Question
Let me begin by saying this is not a troll.Has anyone out there every heard of a place located in or around the Princeton area titled the Plaza Regency? Sounds like a hotel, but it is a nursing facility. A close friend was transferred there from a local hospitial. He does not want to be there, he wants to go home, and they will not release him. When legal guardian his caretaker, tried to get him released, this facility called the police to have her arrested. These folks are in there 60's 70's. Any New Jersey folks ever heard of this place?? Family Dr. said it is out of his hands. It is like checking in and not getting out. When the man asks to go home, they rush in and give him drugs so I am told. Police told woman to contact an attorney. Nursing home said they will have her arrested if she tries to get him out. Any one in New Jersey ever heard of this place??? Thanks for any thoughts. I know some of you out there are very up on some of your own states happenings. This was just a thought to post this message here although I realize it is off the beaten path. Thanks.

If your friends can not afford an attorney I suggest they call the Legal Aid Society. I know the NYC chapter as 1-2 days a week where you can call in for free legal advice. Go online and look for info in your area. I would also go to AARP website there are bound to be free legal links there as well.

Hi Pam,
It is called the
PLAZA REGENCY AT THE WINDROWS
5000 Windrow Dr
PrinceltonNJ 609.987.1221
I have included their rating on the website for rating nursing homes. This page shows you the amount of deficiencies they have, and they have a LOT!
I would advise that your friend get a lawyer.

First of all, the poster called Huh really has a heart, doesn't he (she)? "We don't care if your elderly friend is being drugged and kidnapped. This is a travel board!" A new low for humanity.
Between all the regulatory groups in NJ and the advocacy groups for the elderly, there should be someone who can help. AARP is probably a good place to start.
