Need opinion! Driving from Kaanapali to Hana and back through the south...take 2 days?

Most here seem to be ignoring part of the basic question (but yes I realize how old this thread is).
Most seem to be talking about the Road to Hana both ways, while the OP was talking about making the full circle coming back via the south route. I'd highly recommend doing that. I loved the scenery -- totally different at the south end of the island. I did it in reverse and spent three nights in Hana. I'm not sure I'd like doing the whole thing in one day without spending some time in Hana and hiking to the waterfalls, and doing the 7 Sacred Pools, and doing the Lindbergh Grave, maybe the lava tube caves, etc.
