agree with Doug that Chez Laurence was once one of the few places that produced genuine croissants and brioche.
This is not about the walk anymore
I had to tell Aduchamp and Doug that we had house-made fabulous croissants at a little dive on Avenue of the Americas between 39th and 40th street -- as I recall, the name of the place is "Croissant Cafe" or some such. It's on the same block as the Residence Inn.
