Can someone tell me the difference in rooms between the hotel tower and the condo tower. All I can tell right now is that Condo tower rooms are much cheaper and do not include breakfast or cocktail hr. OR would we be better off staying at Hilton??

To me, the condo tower would be just that, condos. You would probably have a livingroom, some sort of kitchen, and seperate bedroom(s), would be my guess. Hotel room would also be just that. Most Embassy suites have a bedroom and sofa sleeper in the livingroom. It would just depend what you're looking for. The safest way to know is to call the hotel directly and ask them what the difference in the two rooms would be.
One thing about Embassy Suites breakfasts is they are about as good and as fresh as they get.

I would go with the condo over the hotel.

Make sure you are being quoted for an oceanfront condo. You can buy a bottle of liquor and some breakfast food for the difference.

Kingston is beautiful. You will really enjoy.

It's been a long time since we actually stayed in Kingston Plantation (5 or 6 years), but I doubt that much has changed. Certainly not visibly, as my morning run on the beach takes me by there 3 days a week.

We stayed in the condo towers, there are several. The Enbassy & Hilton are nearby (in the same resort, as you probably know). The oceanfront or oceanview condos in the towers are fine, certainly the equal of a hotel room/suite.

I agree with tcapp that Embassy Ste breafasts are nice. However, you could also dine at Cafe Amalfi in the Hilton. I haven't had breakfast there, but lunch & dinner are usually very good. So that would give you a good breakfast option if you stay in a condo.

Thanks for the info......i travel frequently for business and get tired of the hotel breakfast although I will say Embassy does have one of the best. I will take the difference I save and treat myself to a nice restaurant breakfast.....any suggestions?

If you don't want to try Cafe Amalfi, which I mentioned above, my breakfast favorites are:

EggCeption (all kinds of creative omelettes, etc., a cut above most other casual breakfast places). It's south of where you'll be staying, on King's Highway (Business 17), on the right.

Harry's in North Myrtle Beach (north of you, also on King's Highway), on your right just before you come to Main Street (you'll pass the post office on your right at the intersection just before Harry's). Nothing fancy, good cheap eats, and lots of it.

If you're dining on Sunday, there are many good brunches; many folks think the one at Chestnut Hill is the best. And that's right around the corner from where you're staying. Take a right as you come out of Kingston Plantation, then take your next left (no traffic signal), which is Chestnut Rd, then take right onto King's Highway, and you'll see Chestnut Hill on the right.

In that area, Biminis, Rossi's, Collectors Cafe, Flamingo Grill, Chesnut Hill and Bonefish Grill.

As usual, Go Travel is right on the money about restaurants in this area. All are very good (with Bimini's being the most casual--it's one of our favorite watering holes, but good food too).

Some other possibilities in the immediate vicinity are: Thorougbreds (just North of the intersection of Lake Arrowhead Rd and Kings Hwy, on the right as you head North). Also, Southern Market is an upscale grocery/eatery combo, in the Galleria Shopping Center at the same intersection I mentioned above (Rossi's is also in this shopping center). Southern Market has everything from great deserts, to sandwiches, to pasta & other salads, to entrees (including seafood, caviar, sushi). The food is very good, and there is a pretty decent dining area. The wide variety makes it a nice choice for a casual lunch (or take-out, which we do a lot).

We live in one of the condo buildings at Kingston Plantation. Unless you really want the happy hour and breakfast it is a lot cheaper to rent a condo, especially this time of year. If you want a kitchen make sure you ask for it, some lockout bedrooms are rented separately. You will get a microwave, small fridge, coffee maker, iron, and maid service. It all depends on what you want. There are wonderful restaurants nearby. We have been told Southern Market has a great breakfast. Chuck's Steak House and Flamingo Bar and Grill are our favorite for dinner. Bimini's is a fun spot during oyster season which is ending this week. If you want more info please contact me. We are trying the restaurant at the Hilton tonight, a friend told us it is very good, but only during the off season can you get in!
