Need help on selecting Los Angeles hotels
My wife & I are going to LA in March for a couple of days. Does anyone have any suggestions for a nice hotel? We hope to spend less than $100 per night. We planning to visit Rodeo Dr., Beverly Hills, Hollywood, NBC studios, etc.

"Nice hotel"? In a desirable part of town, that will be VERY hard to find at $100 a night. LA is still a popular tourist destination, and priced accordingly.
Having said that, the nicer hotels around LAX are competitively priced. But you will absolutely require a car. And you will spend most of your time away from the hotel.
The (bizarrely-named) Farmer's Daughter Motel, on Fairfax across from CBS Television City, might hit that price point, and it's actually not a bad little motel.
But you will find nothing nice in Santa Monica or most of the Westside. Some hotels in Beverly Hills are dealing, so you may luck out. West Hollywood? Focus on properties on Sunset-- the ones on Santa Monica Blvd are pretty gnarly.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Beverly Hills. It is actually on the border of LA and Beverly Hills but the Hotel is good value we paid $94 per room per night. It is about 4 or five blocks to Rodeo Drive. LA blocks so about a 30 minute walk. There are lots of restaurants within 10-15 mins. The hotel has a concierge for arranging tours and I found everyone very helpful. Overall we had a good experience and the location was convenient to the sights you want to see. Rooms are clean and spacious. Have fun. Go to the hotels web site for the best deals. http://www.ichotelsgroup.com

Rates fluctuate according to dates...but I'd splurge and go for the Sunset Plaza. Not too far over your budget considering that breakfast is included.
