Have you considered the Excalibur? Generally, their rates are well under $100/night. In addition, our travel agent got us a good deal by booking both air and hotel at the same time. I have found that our agent has more options in getting you a good deal than the deals on the internet.

Here is an idea on strip that has not been mentioned: The Stardust. Admittedly an older hotel but still very acceptable. After that I would consider downtown and the Orleans as others have mentioned.

Near strip you may want to consider Tuscany or Terribles. I have not stayed at either but have heard very good things.

I would opt for downtown. The savings in room rates will take care of your cab fare to the strip if you feel the need to go.

Guys,
Guess what!! Our group has booked us at Circus Circus and apparently those were the cheaper ones and also trhey wanted a nice casino like feel with a theme. Suggest me how to make the best out of staying there? Also, I might get a last night at Stratosphere, which they suggested, what do you think of that? Any best room there?
Thanks-Preeya

I'm sorry, but your group will regret that choice. Circus Circus is one of the few places in Vegas that I find physically unpleasant. The HORRIBLE location! All those brats running around! The creepy clowns! The tacky décor! The lousy payout at the tables! The awful food (except for their excellent steakhouse)!! If you're not traveling with kids, this is easily the worst choice that your group could make. If you ARE traveling with kids, well, it's the worst choice that your group could make.

Can you cancel the reservations...? You couldn't get rooms at the Flamingo or Bally's or MGM or ANYWHERE else?!?

This has got to be a joke, right preeya. What on earth would make your group choose not just Circus Circus, but that along with Stratosphere? This is just silly in my opinion. If they want to stay there that badly, do it. But don't say you weren't warned. Many, many times by many, many people no less.
