Need Buckhead suggestions

I'll be in Atlanta next week and want to explore the Buckhead area. Where exactly is Buckhead? The Atlanta map shows a huge area. Where is the Driving Miss Daisy house? What is your favorite Buckhead Italian restaurants?

Thanks.

Hi
Atlanta is a fun town - I lived there years ago. (Don't know why people feel it necessary to leave negative, useless feedback.) Years ago a good expensive Ital rest. was Veni Vedi Vici (sp). A fun rest. in Buckhead is Cafe TuTu Tango (among tons of other restaurants). Buckhead is a walkable area about 15 minutes north of downtown. Can be congested but if you're in the mood that can be fun. If you want a "quieter" but fun area, try Virginia Highlands.
Enjoy.

Veni Vedi Vici is a good Italian restaurant, but it's closer to Midtown than Buckhead. And Leslee, Virginia Highlands is no longer a quiet area. It's a fun place to go. For a fun time in Buckhead, I'd suggest Fado, a great Irish pub.

Where exactly IS Buckhead? What intersection would put me at the heart of Buckhead?

Thanks for the suggestions --I'll check out Veni Vedi Vici and Cafe TuTu Tango.

The heart of Buckhead is probably around the intersection of Peachtree and West Paces Ferry, but it goes on from there in all directions.

The house used for Driving Miss Daisy is in the Druid Hills section. It is about 15 minutes fron Buckhead or Downtown in dekalb county.

There is a great new resturant in B-head called Kyma. It is a Greek seafood place. Be sure to make a reservation. You may want to venture down to Midtown and Virginia Highlands or even Decatur, as well.

The center of Buckhead is the intersection where Peachtree, W. Paces Ferry and Roswell Roads come together. The Peachtree Road and Piedmont Road intersection is also close to the center of the area. As someone mentioned the house where Driving Miss Daisy was filmed is in the Druid Hills area off Ponce de Leon Ave.
For a moderately priced Italian restaurant in Buckhead I'd suggest Chaio Bella on Pharr Rd. For something more upscale perhaps Pricci also on Pharr Rd. For something more formal La Grotta is the "Grande Dame" of Atlanta's Italian restaurants and is located on Peachtree Rd.

Buckhead-
Bar scene, shops (aka mall shops)
Fados- Irish Pub is neat
___________

Driving Miss Daisy House. If in Buckhead drive this way to explore.
1) Take Peachtree Road North (just past lenox mall)
2) Make a right onto Lenox Road (land marks Lenox Mall on right, will see flags outfront, and somewhat of a skyscraper with interesting arching top right in front of you)
3) Continue on Lenox Road, will drive past signs for 85/highways, Lenox Road will become Cheshire Bridge Road.
4) Make a Left onto Lavista Road (landmarks Movie theatre and Original Pancake House)
5) Make a right onto Briarcliff road
6) Make a left onto North Decatur Road
7) Make a right onto springdale road, I believe Driving Miss Daisy house on this road. This is the Druid Hills Neighborhood.

Now, after you explore this neighborhood.

If you wind up on Ponce De Leon continue towards atlanta and make a right onto North Highland Ave. Cute area of Atlanta.

(or continue on Ponce to Peachtree Road in Midtown, If you take a right on peachtree and go north you will wind up back where you started in Buckhead, near Lenox Mall)

Or if you go south on Peachtree Road you will wind up in downtown (World of Coca-Cola , Underground Atlanta)

Or, go back the way you came to N. Decatur Road, Make a right onto Briarcliff road, make a left onto Johnson Road (landmark Kroger, Pet Place, Drive through Liquor store) to also reach V. Highlands.
