im planning a trip to San Antonio in early november and was needing advice on how the weather is during this time, or any other suggestion you can give. thanks

I had a funny weather experence in San Antonio. The day I arrived there last year in November (the 10th I think) the high was 88F. The weather cooled way down over night with winds and some rain. The next day it was 65F. So watch weather.com and be prepared.

Average is probably low to mid 70s during the day and low 50s in the evening, but it's really unpredictable that time of year. I would just bring a jacket that you can take on and off.

I was there in early November two years ago and it was beautiful, perhaps even a little warm in the afternoon. As suggested, light jacket or sweater would be good just in case (especially in the evening.)

mireaux7- I don't know how long you are there. But a great day trip is to Fredericksburg. It is a little touristy, but well worth a day, I think.

It is about an hour northwest of SA. (You can google it and find all kinds of info and map.) It is an old German settlement. It has dozens and dozens of fun little shops/boutiques and is known for having a dozen or more wineries in the immediate area. (There is even one in town, at the end of Main St. [Fredericksburg Winery].)

Lots of German restaurants, too! Weiner schnitzel and warm potato salad, yum!

We were just in SA last weekend - be sure to hit the River Walk for great people watching. We always eat at a place called Boudro's - they make fresh guacamole tableside that is really good, and they also serve a mean prickly pear margarita.

They have tourist boats that take people up and down the river, and they'll give you a tour/synopsis of SA history - it's a fun town. Also nice to visit the Alamo and other missions.

The historic town of Gruene (pronumced Green) is within a 1/2 hr. drive (I think) of San Antonio. Small but interesting.

I totally agree; Gruene is wonderful - if you get there, enjoy lunch or dinner on the river at the Grist Mill. Great town for antiquing and going to quaint little shops.

im planning to be in san antonio just for 2 days and one night. i live in dallas, so its a short drive for me.

the poster that mentioned the tableside guac has triggered my tastebuds...so where is that place??

i plan to see the riverwalk/alamo one day and seaworld the next. ive thought about taking some side trips as well, like austin, luckenbach, some other place where dr. pepper is made from pure cane sugar,..
..i have heard of gruene before, and fredericksburg. i may have to consider them as well.

November is arguably one of the best months to visit San Antonio.

The weather in early November can be anywhere from cool to hot, but you can probably expect very nice weather, with temperatures in the 70's in the day and 50's at night. Make sure you bring a jacket for the night and also if a freak cold front accidentally hits as well.

We went on our anniversary (late October) one year, and the highs were in the upper 80's, so you may want to pack shorts, t-shirts, and bathing suits just in case as well... The next year, it was in the mid 50's and raining at the same time of year - can't explain the weather there.

mireaux, boudro's is right on the River Walk - the guacamole is really good; they bring a big rolling cart to your table and cut up the fresh avocado, cilantro, onion, roasted tomatoes, lime juice, etc. right there - it's really good. It's great to sit outside when the weather is nice. They have a website that can give you the specific address - and their recipes. If you don't have a place to stay, we like the Marriott right on the river. Also recently stayed at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort, and that was nice too - it's right by SeaWorld.

We stayed at the Westin La Canterra, up in hill country also, last year. Really enjoyed it, although next time I'd want to be down on the Riverwalk again.
