Need advice. ONE DAY trip to Los Angeles!
Here's the deal. I have to come to LAX to speak at a luncheon in West Hollywood.
I'd like to do it in one day!
Arriving in LAX at 755A
Departing LAX at 705P
I'll be renting a car, so I have to pick up and drop off.
My event is 11a - 2p.
Is this possible?

My coworker was trying to tell me that it was a 2 hour trek to LAX from the hotel in W Hollywood.
I figure I will be able to move at a leisurely pace, even.
I arrive, head to the car and hit the road between 830a - 9a. I really don't think it has ever taken me longer than an hour to get to WH from LAX. I've gone a million times down Sepulveda without problems.
If the event is over at 2pm, I should be able to grab a snack at Bristol Farms and head to LAX around 330p, arrive 430-5p and get checked in with plenty of time to spare.
Just wanted to run it by a few locals before I book my tickets.
Thanks!

Tx~ I'm not currently a local but I am a native!
Seems you have a much better handle on this than your coworker. I guess some huge traffic incident could tie things up for 2 hours but that would not be your typical day in LA.

TxTravelPro - just be aware that they are tearing up Sepulveda from LAX to Centinela (where you will get on the 405 freeway). It could slow things a bit, so don't worry about it, but just be aware so you don't cut yourself too close. It sounds like you know where Bristol Farms is, so it you walk across the street towards KFC, next door to it is a newly opened restaurant called Tompkins Bar & Grill -- GREAT burgers (best in L.A., in my humble opinion).
Be sure to print that return boarding pass at the same time your print the outgoing one to save time

I think it could take longer than you think (yes up to two hours to reach the airport on a weekday), because the PM traffic is REALLY bad thru the West Hollywood/Ktown area. But I think if you arrive at the car return by 5 pm you will not have to worry at all. I think even arriving at 5:30 you will make it if you can do a quick return.
So leaving by 3 pm is very conservative.
