I am traveling to Missouri the day after Thanksgiving with members of my family. Other then visiting the "Arch" what can i see in three days that is fun and interesting for kids and adults. Also what are some good places for adults to go for dinner and after hours? Are there any key boutiques to stop at?

Missouri is a big state. The Arch is in St. Louis and is certainly worth seeing. The offical name for the Arch is the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial and it is part of the Nationl Parks Service.

If you are at all claustrophobic be wary of the lifts in the Arch!

We are staying about 5 minutes from the "Arch" for the whole trip. It is within walking distance from where we're staying but will most likely drive and park Liz5959.

By the way how is parking around the "Arch"?

There is a parking facility to the north of the Arch, which is also adjacent to Laclede's Landing--a cobble stoned touristy area with restaurants, shops and casino access. Some other areas/places to see:
Forest Park: Has museums, zoo,beautiful walking, boating, skating areas--plus restaurants.
The New Cathedral--nationally recognized use of mosaics.
The Loop on Delmar-- fun shops and restaurants(near Forest Park)
Brewery Tour/Soulard area
The Botanical Gardens
The Children's Museum(fun for adults also...
Regarding adult dinner and after hour activities--that would depend on how far you wish to go--there are restaurants and clubs Downtown, Central West End, Clayton, The Loop, Lafayette Square, Tower Grove, Soulard.. Think your best bet would be to check with Metromix(they are now covering St. Louis), or your concierge. Have fun

Wonderful free zoo. One of the best in the country, IMHO.

St. Louis Blues hockey game.

For dinner, try a part of town called "the Hill." Lots of superb Italian restaurants.

Fancy-schmancy shopping at Plaza Frontenac.

If you're into gambling, there are several casinos although they aren't particularly special.

I think St. Charles, nearby, will be decorated for Christmas by the day after Thanksgiving, and that would be a very pretty shopping, walking, dining side trip. (assuming you do Christmas)

There are great boutiques on clayton Rd in Ladue for one of a kind items.

For ladies clothing and accessories go to VIE. It is rated one of the top boutiques in the country.

Washington Ave has great restaurants and night clubs. It is slightly east of the arch.

The Art Museum has a great gift shop and restaurant too - It is a Must Do - It is from the 1904 World's Fair so it has wonderful architectural history.

dont know about gambling but we will do shopping and more then likely dine out for luch everyday and dinner

i did check out the childrens museum and the kids say they want to go to see the zoo and the museum we will probly end up tossing a coin the day we get there. lol!!! kids..
