need a room

I have been searching, unsuccessfully, for overnight lodging in the White Mountains or Lake area of New Hampshire for October 9. Most places require a minimum of two or three nights, and of course, it's the busy holiday weekend. We need a moderately priced room for three adults for one night. We would like to have a nice inn or B&B but at this point, would take almost anything. Is there a number for a central reservationist I could call? Any suggestions for a place? Help! Thanks very much.

May I suggest you repost this with "need a room in White Mountains area of New Hampshire." The generic header you used won't catch the eye of many people.

Try the ski resorts - Loon & Waterville Valley come to mind. They usually have a central reservation #. Maybe you can get a condo unit for a night.

Okay, I must be missing something (which is not new)...what "busy holiday weekend" is the 9th of October? I'd hate to miss an opportunity to celebrate something
