Need a restaurant for tomorrow evening in Washington, DC

Arrving in DC late tomorrow w/ hubby & 2 teenage sons - staying at the Mayflower - 1127 Connecticut Avenue, NW - taking a walk to see Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, etc. Looking for a fun casual place for dinner either near the hotel or along our walk - we eat Italian, Seafood, Steak, burgers.. Any suggestions??

Old Ebbitt Grill, 675 15th Street NW. It's open until Midnight and a very nice intro to DC.

It's a bit far to walk to the Jefferson. Depending on the time you start out, I might stick to the Mall for the first evening... Lincoln, Vietnam Memorial, Korean War and Washington Monument, White House and then over to the Old Ebbitt.

Another possibility might be the newest Clyde's located directly next to the Verizon Center although we've never had a "bad" meal at the Old Ebbitt but be aware it can get very loud in there.

The menus for salads and sandwiches are available for dinner too not just the entrees. It doesn't say that on the menus. That makes it a good choice if you are dining with kids. You can verify that with them if you like before you go.

If you choose Old Ebbitt you should make reservations. They are frequently fully booked. www.opentable.com

Do you realize that's a heck of a walk from the Mayflower. I assume you are taking a cab there?

There's a Bertucci's Pizza at 1218 Connecticut Ave., NW, if that is your cup of tea.

The hotel is not far from Pizzeria Paradiso, just north of Dupont Circle. Yum...

Which Capitol City Brewing Company would be closet to the Mayflower - the one at 1100 New York Ave, NW??

If the New Yor Ave loc is the one next to the DC Convention Ctr and Metro Marriott, I'd say that one.

I think the other is closer to the train station/Capitol.
