Need a backup way to get from Baltimore, MD to Columbia, SC

Dealing with something where my gf and I might have to relocate to Columbia earlier then we have planned too. She'd be flying out more than likely over night and I'd be the one to play catch up and meet her.

So assuming the worst that then I can't drive or can't get someone to take me there, could someone please tell me the way to get there via public transport?

I would guess Amtrak is your only option (assuming they go to Columbia). www.amtrak.com. Of course, that's not technically public transportation

I've taken Amtrak from DC to Charleston. It took 11 hours. It's about a 9 hour drive to Cola from Baltimore. My best advice is to rent a car and drive.

I believe you would have to get yourself to the BWI Amtrak station in order to catch the train, or, BWI for a plane. In looking at the local MARC train I don't see where it will get you from Columbia (Dorsey Station on the Camden Line) to BWI. From Columbia, you could possibly take a taxi or shuttle to BWI. Good luck.

You cannot drive? it may be your only hope. More explanation of time restaints. Bus and train are really probably NO use.

Looks like Amtrak doesn't go to Cola. So your only option is the bus, which will take for-ev-er. Good luck!

There seems to be some confusion between Columbia, Maryland (Baltimore area) and Columbia S.C.. Amtrak goes to Columbia, S.C. but not to Columbia, MD.

I would guess you need to figure Charlotte into the equation--Baltimore-Charlotte-Columbia. More info?
