National Parks tour

Hi
I need some help. We will be traveling to Zion, Bryce Canyon, Grand Tetons and Yellowstone on a tour. What type of clothes will we need. We won't be doing any hiking or river rafting, mostly just walking to sites off of bus. Will regular walking sneakers be ok or do I need some kind of boots? If I can trust the weather info at all these places when we get there around the 8th of October through 12th it will be cold.
Thanks for the imput.

You are hitting all those places in 4.5 days? I sure hope the dates are a typo. But if the trip is that fast paced you'll probably be on the bus most of every day so you really won't be outside all that much. You certainly won't need hiking boots.

Assuming there are more days involved and you actually get off the bus - you still won't likely need hiking boots but just good sturdy shoes with good soles. Temps will run from mild at Zion to cool/cold the farther north and chances of snow in Yellowstone/Grand Teton/Bryce Canyon are possible to very likely so have a sweater and jacket gloves etc. . . .

Bring layers. As mentioned, Zion and on the bus will most likely be warm. The other parks more likely to be cool/cold with possible snow. I would have a jacket for protection from wind, rain etc, a fleece and/or wool or cashmere sweater as well as both snort and long sleeve cotton or silk t shirts. Personally I like my legs covered when I am sitting on public transportation, so l would have light weight and heavier slacks or jeans. Probably a hat with a visor, maybe gloves or mittens, good sneakers or walking shoes with non slip soles

In these areas, I have never been to any restaurant that required formal dress, a clean t shirt and jeans maybe a colorful scarf if that is your style went everywhere.

It will be gorgeous at that time of year. Ditto on bringing layers. I would bring a heavier jacket "just in case" but I doubt you will need it. And you definitely do not need boots. Just good walking shoes.

They have already had temps in the 30 at night in Yellowstone (yes in August) so by mid Oct it could definitely be cold. But as others have said if you are really going to those four parks in four days I doubt you'll be out of the bus long enough to get cold.

Hi
Thanks for your input. I was thinking Jeans and sweaters, scarfs and gloves too. We will leave from Scottsdale and drive up to Grand Canyon first, which I know will be warm, so I’ll be prepared for that.
