Bug Spray Needed Mid-September? GNP, Yellowstone, GTTNP

We're going to be in Glacier NP, Yellowstone, and Grand Tetons between Sep 9 and Sep 22. I know bugs can be horrendous in the summer, but what about mid-September?

Do we need to bring bug spray?

We'll be doing some short hikes, but not backcountry exploring, if that matters.

Thanks.

Bug spray doesn't take up much room in your luggage. Better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Take it or buy it if needed, but once overnight temps drop to freezing there usually aren't any insects around during the day.

I hope the air quality improves before your trip. Right now, it's not good in Yellowstone/Teton NPs.

For travel with carryon luggage we take along some Off or Cutter bug repellent wipes. Avoids any 3oz rules and takes up no space.
