Bug Spray Needed Mid-September? GNP, Yellowstone, GTTNP
We're going to be in Glacier NP, Yellowstone, and Grand Tetons between Sep 9 and Sep 22. I know bugs can be horrendous in the summer, but what about mid-September?
Do we need to bring bug spray? We'll be doing some short hikes, but not backcountry exploring, if that matters. Thanks. |
Bug spray doesn't take up much room in your luggage. Better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.
|
Take it or buy it if needed, but once overnight temps drop to freezing there usually aren't any insects around during the day.
I hope the air quality improves before your trip. Right now, it's not good in Yellowstone/Teton NPs. |
For travel with carryon luggage we take along some Off or Cutter bug repellent wipes. Avoids any 3oz rules and takes up no space.
