I'll be in the Nashville area for 3 days, a Sunday through Wednesday. Any ideas of places that I wouldn't want to miss? I enjoy music of course, birding, art, gardening....Thanks for any suggestions

And, of course, a visit to the Second Avenue "district" is a must.
Enjoy!

You might also enjoy a drive to Franklin, TN about 10 miles south of Nashville. It has many antebellum homes and a historic downtown. If you go, be sure to visit the Carnton Mansion.

If you like country music, be sure to go to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. www.countrymusichalloffame.com It's really interesting. Don't miss the Thomas Hart Benton mural there, which was the last work he completed before dying just a few days later.

Check out what's playing at the Bluebird Cafe. Always entertaining and always reasonably priced. You'll see quality live acts that you won't find anywhere else in the country for that value. They have a website that I think is as simple as www.bluebirdcafe.com and you can book advance tickets over the web.

DH and I just returned from Nashville at the beginning of the week. Second Avenue "district" is fun. We went to the Wildhorse Saloon with a group and had a blast. We went to the Hermatige - Andrew Jackson's home - and had a lovely afternoon. The daffodils were close to blooming.
Part of our time was spent in Franklin and it is a lovely town. The Factory has some interesting shops, lots of them involving artwork.
You will have fun whatever you decide.
