Napa Lodging for Group

I'm looking for suggestions for lodging for a group of about 12 customers. I'd like something really quaint and cool that is in the $200 / night range. Any ideas?

$200 per room is at the lower end for quality lodging in Napa unless you come off-season. However $200 per person will get you something "quaint and cool" perhaps.

When are you coming and what sleeping arrangements do you require? And what part of Napa County do you want to stay in?

We will likely be there mid-Oct. We need separate rooms. No real restrictions as far as locale.

So, okie is it $200/per room per night or $200/per person per night and how many persons to each room? Mid October is prime season in Napa & Sonoma. You might see if there is a house at VRBO, such as

It is $200/per room per night. Each person needs their own room and there will be ~12 people. Thanks!

Okie, $200 per room per night is most likely not
going to get you "quaint and cool" in Napa
in mid-October, especially if any of your
travel dates include weekends. You can spend some
time looking at the lodgings with 12 + rooms on
napavalley.com
if you want to get a sense of what prices
and availability are during mid-Oct.
You might simply begin with Napa River Inn, Embassy Suites Napa
Marriott Napa, and Best Western Stevenson Manor Inn in Calistoga.

That all said, I would truly give some serious thought to contacting
a local travel agent who is
well versed in working with
large groups, may have access to better rates
and can get this done in a speedy fashion.
One with a very good rep who knows both Napa & Sonoma is
HMS Travel, you can check them out at
hmstravel.com
or do your own google search.

It's homework time !
Let us know how you do.

I had difficulty getting one room for two nights about a month ago and will be spending more than $200 a night. As mentioned a local travel agent would probably be your best bet at this late date.

Go to hotels.com or expedia and plug in your dates. The rates are quite high for mid-October. I did see the Embassy Suites in Napa had rooms for under $200 but not cool and quaint. I'm not sure how much the rooms are but you might try Christian Brothers retreat. Call, don't e-mail. They take a long time to respond.

October is high season in the area. $200 per room will be difficult -- and I'd guess most anyplace w/i that budget probably wouldn't have 12 rooms available for your dates.

How many nights? And weekday or weekend?

In some parts of the country $200 gets you "posh". In Napa/Sonoma in October $200 gets you a decent motel -- if you are lucky.

What is the occasion - a business meeting, a wedding, a family reunion? Does it have to be the wine country?

your price point is unrealistic for that location at that time of year. I will suggest you speak with Silverado Resort. They may be able to offer you a package.

I was actually just going off of what we paid last year for a mid-range large hotel chain in Napa, which was around $150. I would have guessed occupancy was down due to the economy and that $200 might get me an even better place with the need for 12 rooms for 3 nights during the week. It sounds like that may be a pipe dream. This is for customers so we want a nice place but it doesn't have to be anything super extravagent.

Regardless of price, just getting 12 rooms at the same location at such late notice and during the high season is problematic in itself. The economic situation doesn't really affect those intent on vacationing in Napa Valley, and the hotels are aware of this fact.
