Nantucket inns/hotels

In Nantucket has anyone stayed at:

The Harbor House
Pineapple Inn
Nantucket Whaler
Union St. Inn

If so, would you recommend any that you have stayed at? We would like a nice place w/i walking distance to town.

Thanks in advance!!!!

Every lodging establishment is within walking distance of all things Nantucket.

I always( every year for many years)
stay at The Jared Coffin House.

The JCH is my recommendation.
It cost a small fortune but is worth every single penny!

Thanks Oaktown Traveler for your response. That is the place I had looked into at first, but then I read that it has become rundown/dated/shabby (not as in shabby chic . I wonder if the JCH has been renovated, as I have read that it is not what it used to be??????

I've stayed at Union St. Inn, and it was very nice. It was very close to the ferry, and considering it was in the winter, we had a nice short walk to the Inn. I'd stay again, but it's the only one I have been to on the island and it was 6 years or so ago.

My mouth flew open...Where did you get that information?

That aside, go to their web-site and see for yourself. Call their 800 number for further assurance of the superior condition of the hotel.

ec, you know Oaktown don't stay in no run down hotel except by accident...smile.

At any rate, make your reservations now.

Will you be in MV at all? If you plan to take your car on the ferry you gotta reserve like now too.

Happy Planning,
