Try Kingston Plantation. This is a very nice property. The have condos but they also had a building right on the beach. I am sure this would fit your needs.

Go further south to Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort at Litchfield by the Sea (Pawley's Island). Quiet, upscale, good dining in Murrell's Inlet. Probably even cheaper than Kingston too.

I agree about Litchfield. A retired couple would have much more fun there. Also, the dining is so much better in that area.

If you haven't made reservations yet, go with the Sea Watch Resort--near Kingston Plantation but a lost less expensive. My husband and I just returned and we absolutely loved it. It is clean and new, and the pool area is the best I've seen in 23 years of vacationing in Myrtle Beach. You'll love it!
