Myrtle Beach Long Weekend + Golf

My husband and I are talking about coming to Myrtle Beach for a long weekend, after the cold Wisconsin winter, perhaps 5/21 to 5/24.......perhaps a hotel with a golf package. We'll probably rent a car to get something to eat, or shop (doubt he'd like that too much). He golfs very well, I golf okay. Maybe a place with a nice pool....near or on the water.

Would assume we'd golf Sunday for sure (maybe Saturday if we get there soon enough), and Monday morning. Can anyone offer any recommendations? Not top of the line; can't really afford that, but something nice.....3 to 4 star, maybe? Dont' know the area or the golf courses...............but looking so forward to getting out of here, even if for only a weekend.

Well, I think you will have a choice of something like 110 golf courses. You should search the internet for some discounts==I am sure others will be better able to advise although our kids have played at several up that way. You can play at a TPC course for big bucks or some other for less. There are undoubtedly packages.
You might look at Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort--it is a bit south of MB, is much quieter, and much prettier than a lot of other places. The choice of restaurants is VERY nice, and there is nice small shops to shop for lots of things. All in all, a pleasant place to go.
I don't know how that particular weekend fits into the Harley week, but again Litchfield/Pawley's would be more away from that if that is what is going on in MB.

Thanks. My husband wants a tpc course, but the rest could be local or public, as long as they are nice. I'm going to be in Denver right before and he will meet me wherever we go.

How ironic that they would have a Harley event, being from Wisconsin!

We're still looking; will be either Myrtle Beach or Palm Springs. Obviously, it's not something we've done much! Looking at cost and convenience of both

If that is Harley weekend, you may want to reconsider. There will be thousands of bikes. Traffic comes to a stand still and restaurants are all booked solid. There is a second "bike" weekend right after that is actually worse. Some stores and restaurants actually close. Check with the Chamber of Commerce before making your plans.

The first "real" Harley week is really not bad south of MB, and those folks are fairly calm. The Memorial Day weekend is the one to AVOID.
