My mother and her air miles
My mother just phoned me saying that she had 102,000 air miles on Continental and she would like to use them. Other than her air miles we would be on a rather small budget for hotel, meals, etc.
She is in her late 70's and has some difficulty getting around so we don't want to do a lot of walking.
We have been to Seattle, an Alaskan cruise, Guam, Boston and Dallas. She does not like to shop, but enjoys gardens and people watching.
I would love some suggestions....please help.

The gardens in Charleston are lovely this time of year.
Portland, OR, has beautiful gardens and a good transportation system.
San Francisco has great people watching and good transportation. If you haven't been to SF, that would be my suggestion for a great city destination.

I love Charleston, Portland and SF - but these cities might be tough on someone with mobility issues. Charleston has cobblestones and uneven sidewalks, SF hills, and Portland is spread out - although that might be the best of the 3 suggested.
A cruise with inside cabin to Bermuda or someplace in Caribbean might be a surprisingly economical choice - watch for sales. While Bermuda does have uneven sidewalks, the public transportation system is wonderful and just riding around on the bus has beautiful sites.
Am not familiar with Continental FF program, but is there some option to use miles for hotels?

happytrailstoyou, gail & Kerry,
These are all great ideas. I will meet with my mother tomorrow for lunch and we can discuss some of your ideas.
I don't usually fly Continental...all of my air miles are on American so I don't know if you can use miles for hotels, etc. I will check on that tomorrow.
Do you have any special hotel recommendations in any of the cities memtioned?
thanks
